New build, storey addition, roof or energy refurbishment: we show which federal, state and regional schemes come into question – and in what order you have to proceed.

Programmes at a glance

For many projects funding decides whether building happens at all. The problem is rarely the amount but the sequence: almost every scheme requires the application to be filed before work begins, and most require an independent energy efficiency expert. Sign the building contract first and think about funding afterwards, and it is gone. On the following pages you will find the programmes that are regularly relevant for timber construction, storey additions, roofs and refurbishment in the Hannover Region – described factually, with a link to the official source.

Getting the order right

Advice first, then the application, then construction. The funding application must be in place before work begins – and signing a supply or works contract already counts as the start. Under the BEG and KfW programmes an energy efficiency expert from the federal register is additionally mandatory; they issue the confirmation for the application and later the confirmation after completion. Plan for that lead time.

Terms and budgets change constantly; only KfW, BAFA, NBank and the responsible funding bodies are binding. Applications must generally be filed before work begins.
